Who we're looking for

We are looking for an energetic and passionate Data Engineer to join our WeLend team.

As a Data Engineer of WeLend, you will be responsible for design, develop and deliver high-performance, high-traffic and high-throughput data solutions in the FinTech industry.

You will work in an energetic team of a fast-growing tech company which share the common goal of driving technical excellence and deliver quality software.

You will get plenty of chance to learn and build up your career in the FinTech domain.

What you will be doing

  • Design, build, maintain and optimize scalable data infrastructure for data exploration, analytics, and reporting purposes
  • Research, propose and adopt new tools, technologies, and best practices on data solutions proactively
  • Manage data related workloads and pipelines
  • Perform data modelling, ETL and BI related tasks
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, reliable, state-of-art solutions that work well within the overall data architecture
  • Evaluate and execute data privacy protection and governance using industry best practices and technologies

What is required and what we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Math, or related fields
  • At least 2 years of solid experience across systems integration, business intelligence, data engineering, data analysis and data warehouse management
  • Work experience of modern programming languages (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, Scala, SQL, Stored Procedures, etc.), databases (e.

g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)

  • Solid experience in data ETL processing or streaming is a must
  • Experience in AWS Redshift, QuickSight and Apache Airflow is essential
  • Experience in Cloud-based data platforms is preferred (AWS, Azure and GCP)
  • Solid Experience in visualization tools and reporting services (e.g. Data Studio, Qlik, PowerBI, Apache SuperSet, etc.)
  • Knowledge in software development lifecycle and CI / CD workflows with experience working in Agile / Scrum team is preferred
  • Proven track record to apply analytical and creative thought
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and proven teamwork skills in a fast pace environment
  • Fluent in English and Chinese, good written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidate with more experience will be considered as Senior Data Engineer.
