Postdoctoral Fellow(s) / Research Associate(s) (Mechanical Design)
Description
- Applicants should have (i)a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related disciplines (forPostdoctoral Fellow);
- OR a Master’s degree in the abovementioned disciplineplus four years’ relevant post-qualification experience (for ResearchAssociate);
- ii) rich experience in developing reliable and good performancerobotic systems, especially whole robot design abilities including choosingappropriate motors together with transmission system;
- iii) proficiency inSolidWorks, AutoCAD, Eagle, TINA for mechanical or electrical designs; (iv)strong problem-solving skills and project execution capability;
and (v) self-motivationto work independently and co-operatively with other team members. Workexperience in locomotion robots will be advantageous.
The appointee(s) willbe responsible for (a) mechanical system development for robots underdevelopedby the Department; (b) design, evaluation, acceleration, optimisation and test;
and (c) design and development of testbeds.
Appointment will bemade on contract basis for two years, renewable subject to good performance andmutual agreement.
