Assistant Computer Officer

The Information Technology Services Centre is looking for an IT professional to help manage the Central Data Centres of the University. Duties include (a) managing the infrastructure and facilities of Central Data Centres; (b) overseeing the 24x7 operations, ensuring reliability and security of Central Data Centres; (c) preparing operating procedures, reports, tenders, and documents of Central Data Centres; (d) project co-ordination and project management; and (e) vendor management and communicating with other stakeholders.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or related disciplines; (ii) at least 3 years’ work experience in data centres and / or system administration; (iii) a self-motivated and mature work attitude; (iv) excellent writing and communication skills in English and Chinese; and (v) solid experience in data centre infrastructure management, such as space management, electricity, UPS, air-conditioning, security and environmental devices. Having work experience in one or more of the following areas is / are preferred : networking, information security, or project management.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
