The Opportunity
We are seeking to recruit capable and independent individuals for the following position to drive and promote the good safety culture across the region and to improve the health and safety performance across operations and projects.
- Local Business Partnering including the provision of site, travel and office safety support on H&S advice to support internal clients (both projects and systems).
- Manage H&S matters at regional, local and group levels.
- Good working relationship with senior staff particularly Group and Officer Leaders, Project Managers and HSEQ team is essential.
- Work closely with HSW representatives on HSW initiatives to ensure effective implementation.
Responsibilities :
Act as a business partner to provide support on H&S related mattersAssist in improving the culture across the region to ensure a healthy, safe and accident-free working environment.Implement the H&S initiatives, plans, programmes, standards, management systems, e-systems consistently and effectively in East Asia Region and ensure proper verification for all locations including sites.Develop and implement strategic solutions that support management's efforts to improve H&S performanceLead and supervise region Health & Safety teams.Act as a key investigation officer when HIPO incident happens, in order to find out the root cause and prepare the remedial action plan and follow up the associated actions.Monitor injury, illness, and incident related performance and report promptly.Manage emergency response plan to deal with emergency situations for the health and safety of employees and those working for the firm.Assist in preparing corporate Health & Safety reports on performance for management review of the past performances and the progresses of improvement initiatives.Monitor H&S regulatory compliance for the regionDevelop and deliver H&S trainings, workshops and good practices as well as the lesson learnt.Communicate all findings, concerns and deficiencies to the region lead to ensure timely and necessary actions for improvementAt Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Qualifications and Experiences required :
Degree or above in Environment, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or related disciplinesAt least 12 years of experience in safety management, preferable in construction industryRegional experience and working in multi-national corporations will be advantagesSolid experience in the implementation of corporate policies, procedures and guidelinesIn depth knowledge and recognized qualifications in safety management, including qualifications such as ISO 45001 or equivalentMembership of relevant professional institution such as Registered Safety Officer (RSO) or Registered Safety Auditor (RSA) of Labour DepartmentWilling to drive changes and make actionable improvement planHands-on and practical with good organizational, communication and presentation skillsAbility to perform efficiently in a fast-paced and multi-cultural environmentWilling to travel within East AsiaExcellent spoken and written English and ChineseWhat we offer you
