Introduction :

Our client, a well-established group in the real estate and hospitality industry, is seeking a meticulous and experienced accounting professional with strong General Ledger (GL) Accountant expertise.

Responsibilities :

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full set of accounts for a portfolio of intermediate holding and active operating entities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with Group policies and reporting standards.

  • Oversee the full spectrum of GL activities, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing in accordance with Group accounting policies, SFRS, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial and management reports to the Group consolidation system within stipulated timelines.
  • Review and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Review Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) transactions for proper accounting treatment and reconciliation with the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly audit schedules and ensure timely clearing of balance sheet items and outstanding entries.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of financial statements in XBRL format.
  • Support the year-end audit process, including preparing statutory accounts, handling audit queries, and liaising with external auditors.
  • Participate in system enhancements, implementation projects, and perform user acceptance testing (UAT) as required.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and support continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting efficiency.

Requirements :

  • Strong hands-on experience in General Ledger (GL) accounting and financial reporting.
  • Solid understanding of SFRS, statutory reporting, and audit processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel skills; experience with consolidation systems and XBRL filing is an advantage.
  • Independent, proactive, and able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred experience in real estate or hospitality, though candidates with relevant accounting backgrounds from other industries are welcome to apply
