Entry Requirements :
Applicants should have – (a) (i) an Advanced Diploma in Theatre and Entertainment Arts, Stage Management or Theatre Production of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, or equivalent (see Note (2)); OR (ii) a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Theatre and Entertainment Arts, Stage Management or Theatre Production from a Hong Kong polytechnic university / polytechnic or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical college / technical institute, or equivalent (see Note (2)); OR (iii) a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Theatre and Entertainment Arts, Stage Management or Theatre Production from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, or equivalent, with at least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in stage management or theatre production; (b) (i) Level 2 or equivalent (see Note (3)) or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent; OR; (ii) Level 2 (see Note (4)) / Grade E or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; (c) Good interpersonal and supervisory skills; (d) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua will be an advantage; and (e) Good general computer skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD will be an advantage.
Notes : (1) Applications which did not provide all information as requested or which are not clear that the candidates have met the entry requirements may not be considered. (2) Applicants without the requisite academic qualification stated in entry requirements (a)(i) and (a)(ii), but who are undergoing further studies with a view to obtaining the requisite qualification in the 2024 / 25 academic year may also apply; if selected, appointment will be subject to their obtaining the requisite academic qualification within the 2024 / 25 academic year. (3) For non-civil service appointment purpose, “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E (2024 or before) or specific grades / levels in Other Language subjects (2025 and onwards) in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE. (4) For non-civil service appointment purpose, Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. (5) The position is open to both male and female applicants. Duties :
To work on shifts as duty stage manager and be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of stage services; to supervise stage artisans and junior staff during fit-up, rehearsals and performances; to liaise with venue users to resolve technical problems; to assist in procuring stage equipment, stores and consumables for stage operation; to assist in updating and preparing technical data on stage facilities, stage plans, technical drawings of stage installations, equipment and inventory list of stage production equipment. (Note : Appointees are required to work shifts, irregular hours and overnight; work on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays; and perform outdoor, typhoon and rainstorm duties.) Successful applicants will be appointed on Non-civil Service Contract terms. Fringe Benefits :
Contract lasting for one year or more normally attracts gratuity. A gratuity may be granted to the appointee upon satisfactory completion of the contract with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
