Our client, a leading service provider with business operations spanning the globe, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel specializing in Data Protection to join their global legal team.
Description
- Provide expert legal advice on data protection and privacy matters to various business units across the globe.
- Ensure compliance with international data protection laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures to safeguard personal data and ensure privacy compliance.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to data protection and privacy, conducting regular audits and assessments.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on data protection and privacy best practices.
- Review and negotiate data protection clauses in contracts with third parties, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
- Lead the response to data breaches and privacy incidents, coordinating with relevant stakeholders and authorities.
- Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory bodies and authorities on data protection and privacy matters.
- Work closely with IT, HR, and other departments to ensure integrated data protection strategies.
Profile
Qualified lawyer, with a minimum of 8+ years PQE in data protection and privacy law gained in laws firm or inhouseProficient in English and Chinese (both written and spoken)In-depth knowledge of global data protection laws and privacy regulationsExcellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skillsRelevant certifications in data protection (e.g., CIPP / E, CIPM) are a plus.Job Offer
