Associate, Media Relations, Group Strategic Marketing and Communications-(WD74398)

Business Function

Group Strategic Marketing & Communications is responsible for building, protecting, and enhancing the DBS brand in an increasingly commoditised banking industry. Working closely with all units within the DBS Group, we create and execute integrated strategies that focus on communications especially digital communications, marketing and research to differentiate – and elevate – our brand from the rest of the competition.

Responsibilities

  • Help manage and coordinate media and public relations activities and events
  • Manage media queries and interview requests
  • Help develop content for press releases, social media posts, speeches and presentations in English and Chinese
  • Leveraging AI / data to monitor, analyse and communicate PR outcome on a regular basis
  • Coordinate and manage awards pitching and submissions
  • Support issues, crisis and reputational risk management
  • Explore and evaluate speaking opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the local, international, broadcast and trade media
  • Maintain a keen understanding of media and industry trends
  • Help with any administrative tasks as and when needed

Requirements

  • Graduate or equivalent degree in communications, business / finance, journalism, translation or marketing
  • Good understanding of banking / financial services industry
  • At least 5 years of communications and media relations experience (candidates with less experience will be considered Analyst), ideally in financial sector and / or PR agency
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player and as a sole contributor
  • Able to adapt to changing market trends and company needs
  • Strong relationships with local, regional and international media outlets
  • Experience with event planning and demonstrate ability to use AI / data to enhance work efficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and Chinese, including Mandarin
