Head Butler / Family Butler Position - Hong Kong / China - Live-in - Must be fluent (written & spoken) in MANDARIN & ENGLISH (non-negotiable)

We are seeking a highly skilled, discreet Butler to oversee and manage the Principal's personal & household affairs. This role requires a blend of exceptional hospitality (Butler) expertise, strong leadership to lead and train the household team members, including housekeepers, Chauffeurs, nannies and chefs. The successful candidate should also be a good team player with very good communication skills in both English and Mandarin to liaise with office teams and household teams both in Hong Kong and China; and with good overseas travel experience and ability to adapt to different cultures / working locations.

Family based in Hong Kong (Majority of the year) and Shenzhen in China (part time)

They have 3 young children, so the mother would prefer female candidates, due to the childcare duties

Key Responsibilities :

Manage the principal's personal and family affairs with utmost professionalism and confidentiality

Oversee daily household operations including coordination and management of all household staff including drivers, helpers, nannies, chef, private tutors etc.

Develop, implement, and maintain the SOPs for household management

Manage the inventory lists of the family, purchases of household goods; household administration work

Provide training and development programs for household staff, particularly helpers and drivers so to make sure they are taking responsibility to work up to the required standards.

Arrange and manage family’s meals in accordance with the family’s needs and preferences.

Childcare – arrange school activities, tutors, extra-curriculum classes etc

Arrange family events, principal’s social events

Keep records of all household staff on their payroll, leave, expenses, work performance reviews etc

Repair and routine maintenance of the principal’s properties

Travel with the family if and when needed to give onsite support

Handle ad-hoc tasks as assigned

Skills and Requirements :

Min 5 years of experience in hospitality sector, with work experience as a butler in 5-star hotels or luxury residences (such as the Middle East, Europe or 5-star resorts); or family PA supporting VIP families

Have overseas travel experience and can adapt to different cultures and sophisticated environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels – from boss to all tiers of colleagues

6 days week; working on weekends and holidays required

Be prepared to travel globally with family

Strong organizational skills required for manpower planning, event management.

Proven ability to develop and implement SOPs in household settings

Strong leadership and management skills in leading a team of household staff, and can plan and with strong execution skills

Training of household staff (especially helpers), work allocation, QC of work and performance reviews with improvement plans etc.

Good knowledgeable about diverse cooking preferences, good sourcing of organic food and good recipes

Experience in running a family household with young children

Discreet, professional, and a high level of commitment to adapt and learn

Passionate with a strong sense of responsibility

Articulate and excellent problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic approach with strong common sense

Good computer literacy, and familiar with using iPhone and related gadgets; electronic payment platforms etc

Immediate availability is preferred

Benefits

Negotiable Salary between $100,000 to $150,000 Gross per annum

Accommodation provided, Negotiable on either allowance to source own accommodation or assisted
