Key responsibilities :
Conduct impact analysis on new regulatory and internal requirements and collaborate with business units to implement effective solutions to capture business opportunities
Support business units in maintaining up-to-date policies and procedures to demonstrate compliance with regulations and internal policies
Review business processes, identify issues and work with business units in implementing effective and efficient controls
Design, manage and make recommendations for improvements as necessary compliance programs and controls, including but not limited to Sales and Distribution, Market Conduct, Outsourcing and Data Privacy
Provide compliance advisory and support on daily business matters
Review materials related to new or revamped products and business initiatives to ensure compliance
Provide compliance support in complaint cases reviews, conduct market conduct investigations and trend analysis
Monitor, manage and report compliance risks on a timely manner, collaborate with business units to implement corrective and preventive measures
Influence business units to take ownership of their first line responsibilities.
Collaborate with the other stakeholders from the second and the third lines of defense to maintain a robust control and monitoring framework
Liaise and manage relationships with regulators and work with business units to promptly address any concerns raised
Assure the senior management team that business processes comply with regulatory and internal requirements
Assure the regulators that the company has established adequate policies, procedures, and control measures to effectively manage compliance risks and adhere to relevant regulations
Assist in regular and ad hoc compliance reporting to the senior management and the group office
Promote a culture of compliance through regular interactions, communications and trainings
Lead and coach junior members of compliance professionals
Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor
Key requirements :
Degree in Law, Business, Finance or related disciplines.
At least 7 years of relevant experience in compliance within insurance industry.
Good understanding of the requirements by the Insurance Authority, Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Securities & Futures Commission (ILAS), VHIS Office and MPFA.
Familiar with the general operations of an authorized long-term insurer, the agency force and brokerage firms in Hong Kong.
Strong interpersonal skills, objective-driven and results oriented. Able to work independently and together with business units under pressure.
Possess active listening skills, strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, and contextual awareness.
Confident in discussing issues and solutions with regulators and business units.
Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
