Research Assistant / Senior Research Assistant (Sleep and Mental Health Research) (25260330)

Project Introduction :

The School of Chinese Medicine at HKBU is dedicated to advance sleep and mental health research. Our research focuses on developing and evaluating the efficacy of various novel interventions for the treatment of sleep and mental disorders, drawing on traditional Chinese medicine (e.g., Chinese herbal medicine & acupuncture), exercise science (e.g., Tai Chi), and psychotherapy (CBT-I). Our work has led to multiple publications in top-tier journals, including  the BMJ ,  the Lancet Child & Adolescent Health ,  British Journal of Sports Medicine , and more.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage participant enrollment and follow-up in clinical trials;
  • Answer participant inquiries related to the study and provide clear explanations of research procedures;
  • Perform data collection, entry, and management;
  • Conduct literature reviews and contributing to research protocol development.
  • Assist in manuscript preparation and grant applications;
  • Ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory guidelines for human subject research; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • A bachelor s or postgraduate degree in Chinese medicine, psychology, public health, nursing, or a related field;
  • Experience in clinical research is essential;
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to multitasking;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong attention to details and accuracy in data management;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and research-related software.
  • The initial appointment will be on a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement.

    Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
