Job Purpose

The Head of Marketing, Communications, and Development reports to the Vice President (Administration) on admissions-related matters, and Director (Institutional Advancement and Marketing) on branding and publicity matters. He / she will lead a team to achieve the College's overall marketing and admissions goals and provide marketing support to the College’s institutional advancement as needed. This role will take overall responsibility for brand communications, internal communications and crisis management and ensure consistent brand messaging across various channels.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Leadership

Provide visionary and operational leadership in marketing and communications strategy for student admission which aligns with the College’s business strategy.

Develop a strategic and objective-based marketing plan in alignment with the College’s values and purposes.

Drive the implementation of the marketing and communication plan across multiple channels including website, social media, advertising collateral development, and direct marketing.

Cultivate high-impact and result-orientated marketing practices in the College and work closely with internal units. Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on expertise marketing advice.

Manage the marketing team to deliver high-impact marketing campaigns and possess a strong demonstrated commitment to creating a diverse, equitable working environment.

2. Branding & Communications

Lead branding and communications for the College to ensure a consistent corporate image.

Identify, assess, and expand opportunities to raise the visibility and market share of the College.

Engage with media and industry peers, participate in relevant professional associations and keep current of trends impacting student recruitment and College’s development.

Plan and manage public relations strategy and relevant activities.

Manage budget and coordinate with key internal stakeholders on effective use of resources to meet current and future development needs. Adapt to changing operation conditions and resource availability, and work with Corporate team as needed.

3. Admissions & Development

Expand student enrolment channels by maintaining and growing relationships with the school networks locally and internationally, community network

Promote the College’s academic programmes and other learning programmes, including advertising, outreach event, and school talks.

Identify different sources of potential students through channel marketing.

Lead marketing communications support for the College’s other learning programmes, including CPD course.

Advise marketing approach for the College’s institutional advancement initiatives as needed.

Job Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing / Journalism or related discipline.

At least 15 years of marketing experience in the tertiary education sector or in the sales and customer servicing sector. Prior working experience in the education sector is preferred.

Strong IT skills for project management and presentation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Competence in digital marketing applications and management.

Excellent command of English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).

Ability to engage with senior executives.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with different stakeholders and external parties.

A good sense of responsibility and self-motivation.

Able to handle tasks independently with minimum supervision.

Able to adopt a positive attitude to the team’s objectives and maintain collaborative work relationships with team members.

Customer-service mindset and able to resolve issues and maintain strong relationships.

Experience in managing social media platforms and web content is an advantage.

Organized and task-oriented to meet deadlines.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

Initial appointment will normally be made on a renewable 24-month contract.

Remuneration is competitive and will be based on qualifications and relevant experience. The College offers group medical insurance and dental, staff development support and annual leave to eligible appointee(s).
