Prudential is looking for a Global Head of Employee Communication & Engagement — a critical leadership role in defining and driving the company’s transformation. Working closely with the Global Leadership Team, Group CHRO and HR team, as well as the Chief Transformation Officer and Transformation team, this role will shape corporate culture and help employees actively embrace change.
Job Responsibilities
- Working closely with the CHRO and team, develop an employee communication and engagement strategy that will drive impact for the business.
- Be thoughtful about the symbols and rituals the company needs to develop to support a caring and productive culture.
- Build metrics that meaningfully measure the value employee communication and engagement is delivering to the business.
- Work with business partners across Prudential to ensure our strategy is consistent with other priorities and that we’re aligned with broader organisational goals.
- Be a valued, strategic partner by building a strong understanding of CHRO and CTO needs and use this understanding to underpin the broader strategy.
- Ensure consistent and reliable delivery of internal information
- Build a constructive and productive relationship with the HR team and partner with them on the delivery of the plan
- Build group-wider relationships to support the delivery of consistent communication across the markets.
- Support Corporate Affairs programs by amplifying campaigns internally
- Work with stakeholders cross the business to source and produce stories in different formats.
- Harness knowledge and insights from stakeholder surveys / reports, external and internal networks and LBU brand / market / comms teams (as relevant) to identify opportunities to build and enhance the reputation of Prudential.
- Working closely with HR, help to craft proposals on employee brand strategy for discussion with the GEC and Board.
- Responsible for employee branding related projects as our overall branding strategy is formulated.
- Successfully manage all employee comms channels, increasing relevance and viewership
- Amplify culture through existing and new channels.
- Play a critical role in nurturing the team so they can achieve their best and deliver impact for the business.
- Position the team as a trusted business partner.
- Partner with HR and L&D to design career growth pathways for high-performing team members to advance their careers within the company.
- Support capabilities building of the Corporate Affairs team across Prudential’s markets
Job Requirements
An industry expert with strong communication and business acumen. Prior experience in employee communication and engagement roles at a senior level. The candidate will have a robust track record of successfully navigating organisational complexity and delivering results for global brands, either in-house or at agencies. Knowledge of Asia and Africa is welcome, as is a knowledge of insurance.An outstanding communicator. The candidate must have the maturity and experience to understand the value effective employee communication delivers for an organisation and able to utilise their skills to manage executive expectations along with the realities of managing a business in transformation.World Class stakeholder management. The candidate will be skilled at managing senior stakeholders who want employee communication to play an outsized role in the company’s transformation.Strategic and structured. The candidate will bring a programmatic approach to their work and have a track record of developing and delivering effective strategy.A self-starter. The candidate will need to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple stakeholders at the same time.Results-oriented. We want to demonstrate the value of great strategic communication, so the candidate will understand the underlying strategic intent of our work and be focused on delivering the results needed by the business to deliver our 2027 strategy.Practical fluency in the tools that bring employee communication to life including enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Viva Engage, email systems, digital signage, intranet and collaboration tools, as well as understanding how to use them effectively to drive engagement at scale. Familiarity with emerging technologies, including generative AI, and an instinct for how and when to apply them, is a plus.Hands-on . We’re a lean team with big ambitions. We need someone who’s willing to grow with us and roll up their sleeves.You’ll have 20+ years’ experience working in Corporate Affairs, Communication or Employee Engagement roles. An undergraduate university degree in journalism, communications or business is a minimum requirement.
