What does a great Technical Consultant do?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Consultant to join our APAC API and Search team. Reporting to the Head of Consulting (APAC), this role will work alongside other Technical Consultants who are engaged directly with our key customers in APAC region.

Our team acts as customer advocates, owning responsibility for monitoring performance of assigned customers to unlock the value of our Travelport products in order to maximize customer efficiency, productivity, and revenue contribution.

The Technical Optimization Consultant will build trusted, technical relationships with customers, providing recommendations to improve our customer search and booking workflow to achieve commercial goals.

Main Accountabilities

  • Work collaboratively within the region with Commercial team to ensure ongoing customer engagements align with key commercial objectives and deliver business value for Travelport and our customers via :
  • Customer optimization and ongoing performance reviews
  • Identifying opportunities to improve revenue, specifically around increasing the number of bookings, for Travelport and the customer.
  • Plan and execute regular engagement with existing key customers to maintain and enhance relationships, making proactive use of current Travelport customer data to offer technical consultancy.
  • Engage with a range of internal stakeholders to deliver a consistent experience for our key customers; internal stakeholder groups include Sales & Account Management, Commercial Operations and Product teams.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Training, Education

  • Experience within the travel industry is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and present at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical skills and working knowledge of BI reporting tools such as QlikView, PowerBI, Excel, Cognos is desirable.
  • Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills with a good understanding of different cultures and how to work with them to deliver results in a global organization.
  • Experience with GDS is advantageous.
  • Context / Environment

  • Uses insightful judgment, identifies, and analyzes information to make decisions, recommendations and solve problems.
  • Be able to retain a calm and logical approach to tasks within the context of a high pressure or time constrained situation.
  • Expected to meet with key customers in support of objectives and goals for the region.
  • Domestic and / or international travel will be required on occasion. Potentially up to 20% of time.
