Serves as Operation Manager, Air, you have a central role to lead the Hong Kong air operation team to ensure smooth, compliant operations aligned with regional guidelines supporting business growth. Accountable for effective processes, interfaces, and quality standards in the Air Freight Department. Collaborate to develop a long-term network plan, establish supplier relationships, and implement operational KPIs.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Reporting to Guangzhou Branch Manager, responsible to lead a HK branch air operation team and to ensure smooth operations, both in compliance and Regional guidelines to grow business.
- P&L Owner of Air Freight Department, and accountable for the smooth and effective process flow, interfaces and adherence to the defined quality standards
- Achieve and support to reach company’s yearly target.
- Develop and define a long-term network plan which fits the network and the regional standard requirements.
- Define key suppliers together with Airfreight Manager and Asia Operation, establish long-term relationships and negotiate long-term contracts.
- Ensure smooth communication with other departments and Branch Manager & Asia
- Operation and represent the own department towards internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the substitutes to supervise and optimize the capacity utilization of the existing network in respect of operational and financial aspects of the Company’s interest’s perspective.
- Forecast and analyses volume and capacity on a Branch level of own department.
- Establish and review procedures and manuals for all entities within the Operation Department
- Follow, implement and monitor the Operation KPI from Asia Operation
- Support, review and control overall cost as well as giving instructions to issue invoices.
- As escalation point to solve all operational issue for team
- Coach, train and provide guidelines on employees’ performance and matters.
Minimum requirements
REQUIREMENT
F.7 or Tertiary level educational qualification preferably in Logistics or TransportationMinimum 7 years of relevant working experience in freight forwarding, shipping or logistics industry.Mature, independent, pro-active, and able to work under pressure.Demonstrated expertise in managing air freight operations, including shipment planning, carrier selection, and client relationship management.Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate cross-functional teams.Skills
