Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for regional enterprise applications that aligns with business objectives and global strategy. Own, maintain, and promote awareness of the application strategic roadmap
  • Lead the implementation of global applications in the region, ensuring local business needs are addressed
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement while overseeing the implementation of multiple large application initiatives
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performance team of IT professionals. Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence
  • Build productive relationships with business leaders to influence how applications can create new business value.
  • Conduct regular surveys to gauge stakeholder satisfaction and implement action plans for improvement
  • Manage the regional applications portfolio, ensuring it meets current and future business requirements. Evaluate and prioritize projects based on strategic alignment, ROI, and risk. Perform ongoing analyses for current and future portfolio components
  • Ensure reliability, availability, and performance of applications. Implement best practices for application lifecycle management
  • Establish strong relationships with key vendors. Understand strategic vendors’ roadmaps and collaborate with global IT teams to strengthen negotiation positions
  • Work with internal governance teams to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards. Oversee risk management processes for applications and database systems
  • Develop and manage the budget for enterprise applications to ensure optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Business Management, with 8+ years in IT management positions, preferably in application development / management.
  • Solid experience in managing IT teams, both onshore and offshore
  • Extensive experience in managing large-scale application portfolios and project delivery
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies
  • Good knowledge of logistics, trading, and freight forwarding business applications
  • Extensive experience with back-office applications and ERP solutions
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for collaboration and influence
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with agile methodologies and change management
  • Ability to prioritize business and customer needs, driving initiatives that enhance satisfaction and value
  • Understanding of financial principles with the ability to manage budgets and optimize costs
  • Business fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English
