We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an  FX Options Front Office Risk System Engineer.

The FX Options Primary Trading System (FXO PTS) team is responsible for the platform used to capture and enable the risk management of FX and precious metals derivatives. The PTS IT team is part of the wider FX Options IT organization, a team of 70 technologists working in Asia, Europe and North America to support a global business. The team leverages a broad range of technologies and is empowered to own their architecture and innovate.

In this role you will :

  • Work with the wider FXO PTS team to deliver an in-house system for FX Options risk and life cycle management.
  • Utilise your hands-on engineering experience and report directly to the project lead.
  • Work closely with the broader delivery team, product owner and other front office stakeholders to design and deliver best in class solutions.
  • Collaborate with trading, quants, operations as well as life cycle and risk technology peers within the broader organisation
  • Adopt a DevSecOps model to efficiently work within a team where all members of the team expected to contribute across development, security and operations.

Requirements

  • Experience of working on front office applications supporting a trading business
  • Experienced Java developer, with familiarity with Spring and Spring Boot
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience in DevOps / Agile ways of working, and continuous integration and delivery
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and effectively under pressure against multiple requests
  • Enthusiasm about working in a global team with different cultures

    • The following experience will be highly beneficial

  • Full stack engineering experience
  • Use of observability stacks for metrics and tracing
  • Programming in a range of languages (JS, C++, Scala, Scripting etc.)
  • Knowledge of the FX options market and operations
  • Understanding of risk management measures, risk matrices, topographies, etc.
  • Some experience of working with vendor risk management systems, especially Murex
