Project Manager I (Structural Engineering)

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage capital works, alteration, addition and improvement (AA&I) and minor work projects on campus and related off-campus locations
  • Prepare designs and proposals for campus development and improvement projects
  • Review and evaluate design / technical proposals by consultants and contractors
  • Liaise with the Government departments and project stakeholders in matters relating to campus projects
  • Prepare tender documents for consultancies and works contracts
  • Monitor and control project progress, and supervise the performance of consultants and contractors to maintain a high level of safety and quality standards
  • Conduct regular audit to ensure compliance of statutory requirements, service and works qualities
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s)

Requirements

  • A recognized Degree or equivalent qualifications in Structural Engineering or related disciplines
  • Member of The Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (HKIE) or equivalent
  • Possession of Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card)
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and supervisory skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills with knowledge of software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modelling or other 3D modelling software is advantageous
  • Good communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal English and Chinese
  • Experience in managing construction site activities will be an advantage
  • Work experience in universities / higher education institutions will be an advantage

    The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications
