Office of the Provost is looking for a high-calibre candidate to serve as the Manager (Shanghai Center). Directly reporting to the Provost, the appointee will provide a comprehensive support to the newly established HKUST Shanghai Center.

HKUST Shanghai Center is a strategic platform for the University serving multiple functions including education, research and development, entrepreneurship, and alumni and outreach, etc.

Major responsibilities include :

Coordinating closely with the operation team in Shanghai, internal offices at the Clear Water Bay campus, and the Shanghai government to ensure smooth operation of Shanghai Center.
Engaging with internal parties including faculty members and external parties to achieve the goals of Shanghai Center.
Arranging and managing events and incoming / outgoing visits.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Frequent travel between Hong Kong and Shanghai is expected.

Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in business operations and communications, entrepreneurship, or start-up incubation, and proven experience in team leadership roles.

Good command of Chinese and English. Native Mandarin speakers who have prior experience of working with mainland government are preferred.

Ability to develop strategies while executing tactical plans. Strong communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, open-minded, and flexible approach to drive change.

Detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Duration : 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
