- b) 能閱讀及書寫中文及操流利粵語;
- c) 須通過體能測試;
- d) 須通過視力測試,包括視覺敏銳度測試及色覺測試。而配戴眼鏡或隱形眼鏡的人士亦可申請。申請人可在配戴矯視工具的情況下進行視覺敏銳度測試,但不包括色覺測試;
- e) 必須是香港特別行政區永久性居民;
- f) 在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績 (註 8);以及
- g) 須通過體格檢驗 (包括尿液驗毒)。
- 2010年1月1日起新聘的督察人員,可透過督察第三級標準專業考試取得合格及晉升為高級督察,便能支取85,770元(警務人員薪級表第39點) 至99,500元(警務人員薪級表第43點) 的薪金。
- 2025 或 2026 學年畢業的學生也可申請。上述申請人必須分別在2025 或2026學年內取得所需學歷資格(即持有由香港任何一所大學頒授的學士學位,或同等學歷),才會獲得聘任。
- 2006年12月舉行的綜合招聘考試開始,能力傾向測試的考生成績仍分及格或不及格,而中文運用及英文運用試卷的成績則分為「二級」、「一級」或「不及格」,並以「二級」為最高等級。
- C」級或以上和「D」級成績(或同等成績)分別會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的「二級」和「一級」成績。香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科「C」級或以上和「D」級成績則分別會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的「二級」和「一級」成績。
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 學術模式整體分級取得6.5或以上,並在同一次考試中各項個別分級不低於6的成績的人士,在IELTS 考試成績的兩年有效期內,會視為已符合督察職位的英文語文能力要求(即入職條件的(a)(i)項)。IELTS 考試成績必須在申請職位當天仍然有效。

With effect from 1st January 2010, new recruits to the Inspector of Police are eligible for the salary payments from HK$ 85,770 (Police Pay Scale Point 39) to HK$ 99,500 (Police Pay Scale Point 43) by passing the Inspectorate Standard III Professional Examination and attaining advancement to Senior Inspector of Police.Final year undergraduate students graduating in the academic year of 2025 and penultimate year undergraduate students graduating in the academic year of 2026 may also apply. If selected, appointment will be subject to, among others, the attainment of requisite academic qualification (i.e. bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent) within the academic year in 2025 and 2026 respectively.Starting from the CRE held in December 2006, while candidates' results in the Aptitude Test (AT) paper are classified as pass or fail, the results of the Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE) papers are classified as 'Level 2', 'Level 1' or 'Fail', with 'Level 2' being the highest.Grade 'C' or above and Grade 'D' in UE of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE), or equivalent, are accepted as equivalent to 'Level 2' and 'Level 1' results respectively in the UE paper of the CRE.
