Back Office Analyst | Nostro Reconciliation

The Company

A leading global financial institution with a strong presence in Europe and Asia is seeking an experienced Reconciliation Analyst to join its expanding operations hub in Hong Kong. The organization is known for its commitment to excellence in financial services, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across diverse markets.

The Team

You will be part of a dynamic Operations team within the Capital Markets division, specifically supporting the Back Office functions. This team manages key operational processes including Nostro and custodian cash reconciliations, payment investigations, and Settlement Instruction (SSI) management. The platform supports multiple entities across Asia and EMEA, ensuring high standards of service and accuracy.

The Role

As a Reconciliation Analyst, you will be responsible for executing daily cash reconciliations across various currencies and legal entities, investigating and resolving breaks, and liaising with internal stakeholders and external counterparties. Your role is vital in mitigating operational risk and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

The Requirements

• University degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or related fields
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Operations or Back Office functions (Nostro, payments, cash management, or accounting)
• Working knowledge of SWIFT message types (e.g., MT103, MT202COV, MT950, MT199, MT299)
• Familiarity with ISO 20022 standards is a plus
• Experience with reconciliation tools (e.g., Intellimatch) and processes (ledger vs. bank statement)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Highly organized with a keen sense of urgency and prioritization
• Risk-aware and detail-oriented
• English fluency required; French is an advantage
• Team-oriented, proactive, and client-focused attitude
