The University now invites application for the Research Project “Nonconvex Sparse Optimization Algorithms : Convergence Theory and Applications”, funded by the School Research Grants (SRG) :

Research Associate – Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Insurance   (Ref : RAsso ( MSI - SDSC   – SRG069 )  202 5 -05-09)

Responsibilities :

The appointee will assist the project leader in developing optimisation models and implementing algorithms.  He / she will be required to conduct data analysis using software applications.

Applicants should :

• possess a master’s degree, preferably with a doctoral degree, in Mathematics, Operations Research or related disciplines;
• be proficient in at least one programming language such as R, MATLAB, and C / C++;
• have a strong sense of responsibility, good organisational skill and be able to work independently; and
• have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
