Mechanical Engineer, Hong Kong

Job Summary

A leading data centre developer, owner-operator is searching for an experienced Mechanical Engineer capable of managing the mechanical systems within all of their Data Centres in HK, ensuring that mechanical systems are continuously operating with maximum efficiency and meeting customer SLAs.

In his role, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining standard operating and emergency operating procedures for front line operations, to maximise efficiency across all Data Centre locations.

Other responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Data Centre Management:

• Complete data analysis on system performance to predict and prevent system failure
• Perform capacity management on critical components to ensure system efficiency and improve PUE (power usage effectiveness).
• Conduct change management to ensure changes do not disrupt operations
• Perform risk management to ensure all risks are considered during operations

Policy & Procedure - establish and maintain standard operating & emergency operating procedures for front line operations to maximise efficiency across all sites.
Customer service online support:

• Customer communications for scheduled enhancement work and emergency maintenance
• Participate and provide responses related to mechanical engineering in any customer due diligence in any pre-sales stages/meetings.

Audit Management - complete both internal & external audits annually, to ensure compliance with respective certification
Reporting - delivery of operating reports and customer reports

To be the right fit for this position, the successful candidate must possess the following skills and technical competence.

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline. Professional or Chartered Engineer preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with 3 years working in a mission critical environment. Experience in mechanical system maintenance and operations is preferred.
• Understanding of operations planning for Data Centre facilities, asset and management of a Data Centre
• Highly motivated team player, capable of taking ownership whether working autonomously or as a member of a wider team.
• Strong communicator in both English and Chinese.
