Equity Analyst

Job Summary

Responsible for conducting fundamental company research to support our investment process for Asia ex Japan equities; covering financial companies listed in Greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan). Part of the research team supporting fund managers based in Hong Kong, London and Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, understand and identify the key sectoral trends that will influence the equity valuations of the companies within the specified area of coverage.
• Analyze individual companies to understand the present fundamentals and identify the risks and opportunities that will determine the sustainability of the business model in the medium-to-long term.
• Conduct detailed financial modelling to determine a Fair Value estimate for each company and express investment conclusions to fund managers through changes / maintenance of stock Grades.
• Research work includes company visits, optimizing information from brokers / expert networks / independent research providers, ESG analysis and the maintenance of financial models.
• Proactively manage stock coverage lists by identifying new names of interest and dropping coverage of companies that are no longer investable on fundamental grounds.
• Support our ESG commitments, including proactive engagement with companies where necessary.
• Where appropriate, collaborate and support other analysts and investment teams across Schroders.
