Executive Officer I / II(s) [carrying the job title of ‘Manager / Assistant Manager (Institute Administration)’] (Ref. 250000T4) (Closing date : May 20, 2025)
The appointee(s) will work at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin, and will be responsible for (a) co-ordinating and managing capital commissioning projects, and liaising with both internal and external parties; (b) discharging a wide range of human resources functions including manpower and succession planning, recruitment, promotion, performance management, training and development, conduct and discipline, etc; (c) planning for the strategic and effective use of the fundings, and drafting proposals / memos for funding; (d) providing professional secretarial and administrative support to various committees, including scheduling meetings and preparing meeting documents; (e) managing and operating the Institute’s building premises, planning for facility enhancement in compliance with the University’s policies, and liaising with hospital administrators for subsequent execution; (f) organising and managing a large amount of research data / proposals / information strategically; (g) co-ordinating the logistics in support of various seminars and / or events at Institute and / or Faculty-level; (h) overseeing general administration and providing assistance in the daily operations of the Institute which houses about 55 research groups with over 500 researchers; (i) maintaining effective internal controls at the Institute, and collaborating with scientific team to promote the utilisation and sustainability of the core laboratory facilities; and (j) performing other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Applicants should have (i) a recognised Bachelor’s degree or above; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website : https : / / www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk / en-gb / languageforeo ; (iii) at least 8 years’ post-qualification executive experience, including 2 years’ experience at tertiary institutions; (iv) excellent communication skills with an exceptional command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (v) a strong sense of responsibility and strategic awareness; (vi) a proficient and independent work attitude, and team spirit; (vii) a high level of decision-making, organisational, time-management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills; (viii) good IT knowledge; and (ix) the ability to motivate subordinates to deliver quality work under tight deadlines. Having solid experience in handling capital commissioning projects would be advantageous. Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer II. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
