Description
Responsibilities :
- Owner of the statutory valuation of Hong Kong & Bermuda branch’s policy liabilities and risk capital; this includes at the minimum the timely and accurate reporting of the policy liabilities and risk capital quarterly and annually, preparation of the statutory forms quarterly and annually.
- Perform solvency reporting, monitoring, and sensitivity analyses across all TLB solvency bases (Bermuda, Hong Kong) and recommend actions (including quantification of impacts) to improve solvency and to manage against uncertainty.
- Perform solvency stress testing which is typically aligned with the tests performed within the ORSA, and to consider recovery plan and management actions.
- Own the projection and reporting of capital generation, including the sensitivities of capital generation.
- Own the management and governance of matching adjustment or liquidity premium as applicable to local solvency bases; including topics related to fund segregation.
- Perform the statutory duties in accordance with the Hong Kong IA & BMA regulation and other applicable regulation / legislation relating to Actuarial.
- Advise the senior management and regional office on actuarial issues regarding solvency, capital, investment, profits, product development and pricing (including oversight on premium certificate), reinsurance and others.
- Assess and provide opinion on reinsurance arrangements.
- Attend the Company’s Risk and Capital Committee Meeting or relevant Industry’s meeting
- Develop the team member’s competency through identifying and implementing learning and development initiatives.
- Perform or participate in ad-hoc regional projects as assigned.
- Provide support to TLIB statutory (actuarial) requirements.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; Fellowship in a recognized actuarial professional body is required.Over 10 years of actuarial experience in the life insurance industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.Strong understanding of life insurance products; experience with Universal Life and Term Life is an advantage.Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, especially Risk-Based Capital (RBC) and its revisions; knowledge of other actuarial frameworks is a plus.Hands-on experience in valuation reporting and / or product development and pricing.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with high attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently under pressure in a dynamic environment.Demonstrated leadership aligned with Aegon’s Leadership Commitments : Purpose & Customer Centricity, Accountability, Agility, Collaboration, Strategic Thinking, and People Development.Equal Opportunity Employer
