The Department

The IT Wagering Solutions Department of The Hong Kong Jockey Club plays a vital role in the organisation by providing application solutions for the Sports Wagering portfolio.  The department responsible for delivering the SP3d Fixed Odds Host Systems, which are essential for ensuring accurate and efficient betting processes.  Additionally, the department is tasked with delivering racing wagering and lottery transaction host components, including comingling gateways, control systems, and associated information systems lifecycle.  Oversee the entire Agi​le delivery process, ensuring high-quality and timely development of the Club's Backend Wagering Platforms.

The Job

Engage in effort estimation, service and application design, code construction, testing, maintenance and support of high-volume customer-facing web channel applications, comprising client, server and database components

Design, enhance, develop and maintain database to support the business and IT requirements

Conducting feasibility studies to evaluate or pilot new business-enabling technology

Planning resources to accomplish development tasks, monitor and report the progress

Performing software development and conduct review according to business requirements and defined Club IT processes and standards

Collaborate  with  business  stakeholders,  architects,  system  assurance,  project  managers  and operations team to deliver a high ‐ quality mobile and web systems, on ‐ time and on ‐ budget

Provide rostered off duty standby support for the production systems

Work closely with Shenzhen development teams, System Assurance, Infrastructure and Operation teams to deliver high quality systems

About You

• Degree or above in Computer Sciences, IT or related discipline
• Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in systems analysis, design, software development and support experience.
• At least 3 years in technical lead position for senior role
• 5-8 years’ solid development experience in . Linux, Java, messaging and MS SQL server
• Solid development experience in OpenAPI, RESTful API, JMS, Spring framework, Hibernate, WebSocket, OAuth2, JSON, XML, YAML, python, JavaScript and shell script.
• Experience in Web Service-Oriented Applications and developing large-scale and high performance software are essentials.
• Preferred experience in integrated with GraphQL, Solace ERD messaging
• Experience in ReactJs, AngularJS, VueJS, would be a plus
• Experience in Kubernetes, Istio, AWS Cloud platform, AppDynamics is an advantage
• Strong understanding DevOps and Agile Methodology is an advantage
• Strong understanding in performance tuning and data security is an advantage
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently and under pressure
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English, Cantonese and (Putonghua is plus)
