The appointee will report to the Head (Counseling and Wellness) in the provision of (a) personal counseling for students individually or in groups for remedial or developmental purposes; (b) cross-cultural counseling to assist students with diversified cultural background in maximizing the benefits from their educational experience; (c) workshops, seminars and orientation activities regarding student mental health, developmental issues, academic concerns and life skills; (d) intervention for students, faculty and staff in crisis situations; and (e) consultation services to faculty and staff regarding the mental health problems and development of individual students.
The appointee is expected to work in close collaboration with academic departments and non-academic offices to help students resolve personal concerns and acquire the skills, attitudes, abilities and insights that will enable them to meet the challenges of student life. Irregular working hours may be required.
Applicants should have a master’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, educational psychology or related disciplines. Registration / eligibility for registration in relevant professional bodies such as Hong Kong Psychological Society and Hong Kong Professional Counseling Association will be an advantage. Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as group work and crisis intervention skills are required. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated ability to work with students at tertiary educational level, and have enthusiasm in enhancing the educational goals for the Counseling and Wellness Center.
For Senior Student Counselor position, applicants should have a minimum of 8 years of relevant post- qualification working experience, preferably with supervisory experience. (Duration : 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
