As a Manager of Operation Risk in Life Operations, you will perform line (in between first line - Life Operations and second line -pliance) of life operational risk and resilience monitoring duties, especially for non-AML related items such as fraud, guidelines issued by Insurance Authority, VHIS, BCP, etc., to ensure the organization's adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies :

The Job

  • Act as the subject matter expert of Life Operations for regulatory (mainly non-AML related) matters
  • Work and collaborate closely with various parties and stakeholder including but not limited to Internal Audit, Risk, Legal,pliance, IT, BAU teams (New Business, Life Administration, Claims and Customer Engagement), IT, regulators ( Insurance Authority) and vendors
  • Ensure BAU teams having process controls as the first line of defence
  • Review business and operational processes to ensure control measures that are always in place with acceptable quality
  • Drive various parties to produce corrective actions and ensure proper implementation with on-going monitoring
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure internal systems, procedures and workflows aligning withpany policies and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and / or review user requirements and procedures for regulatory enhancements in Life Operations processes and systems
  • Liaise with various parties to seek endorsement for updated procedure manuals of Life Operations
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits,pliance reviews and risk assessments for Life Operations. Ensure those finding are rectified properly
  • Undertake consistent liaison and collaboration with Internal Audit, Risk,pliance and external audits
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports highlighting key risk exposures, trends, and emerging issues for senior management
  • Handle ad-hoc projects as assigned

The Person

  • Degree holder or above
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in life insurance sector, preferably in Life Operations orpliance
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements ( fraud, guidelines issued by Insurance Authority, VHIS, BCP), especially on the operational perspective
  • Strong ownership, self-motivated and independent to drive changes
  • Analytical and critical thinking with solution driven mindset
  • Confident in dealing with various stakeholders independently including senior management
  • Goodmand of both spoken and written Chinese & English
