The Department

The IT Wagering Solutions Department of The Hong Kong Jockey Club plays a vital role in the organisation by providing application solutions for the Sports Wagering portfolio. The department responsible for delivering the SP3d Fixed Odds Host Systems, which are essential for ensuring accurate and efficient betting processes. Additionally, the department is tasked with delivering racing wagering and lottery transaction host components, including comingling gateways, control systems, and associated information systems lifecycle. Oversee the entire Agile delivery process, ensuring high-quality and timely development of the Club's Backend Wagering Platforms.

The Job

Lead adoption of strategic cloud network services - On-premise and Cloud Infrastructure. Apply technical expertise to strategize for current / future technological developments and serve as point of contact for network technology questions
Own the full Network product lifecycle of database environment (Plan, Build, Run) leverage Cloud technologies. Technical leadership in design, implementation and support of the network services that are highly reliable, flexible, scalable and cost effective
Lead and manage network technical issues impacting applications working cross functionally across leads of infrastructure, storage, and application teams
Provide guidance to a team of cloud engineers to troubleshoot and investigate performance issues, and resolve in timely fashion
Provide 24x7 network instrumentation & observability, along with compliance of all audits via the use of auditing tools and action plans
Review consistently on the usage of network inventory on-going basis and work on consolidation, migration and deletion of assets associated and ensure savings to IT spend
Risk and Control oversight of Network environment ensuring engagement with Security and Engineering teams
Align personal development plan with business objectives and embrace the transformation to move the team / department forward.

About You

University degree in Computer Science equivalent

5+ years of work experience in managing a large environment of private or public cloud infrastructure and platform services supporting mission critical applications N / A

5+ years of work experience in Infrastructure and network services

2+ years of work experience in SDN products like NSX-T, VMware NSX Advanced Load balancer (AVI)

2+ years of experience with IaC [Terraform / Ansible] and CI / CD pipelines Jenkins

2+ years of experience in public cloud environments AWS or Azure.

2+ years team leadership and management experience

2+ years of experience in Kubernetes platform

2+ years of experience working in agile delivery

2+ years of project management experience

Good analytical and communication skills, able to discuss with internal users and developers on their requirements

Ability to coordinate and collaborate with different club parties and suppliers. Work closely with vendors to achieve expected result.

Strong English & presentation skills, Cantonese and Mandarin oral and written communication skills

CCNP / CCIE certification (or equivalent) is a plus

Expertise in modern networking system Cisco, Cisco ACI, Huawei, Juniper, HPE or alike

Expertise in managing enterprise firewall Checkpoint)

Good experience in large scale network management & monitoring solutions

Hands on experience with F5 BIG-IP, NSX-T, VMware NSX Advanced load balancer (AVI)

Deep understanding of networking protocols IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, QoS).

Sound Knowledge of Network Configuration Management & Orchestration Terraform and Ansible)

Experience in network system programming with Perl, Python, C for network automation is a plus

Expert experience in troubleshooting and resolving urgent / critical incidents on production systems.

Scrum master / project management certification is preferred

Experience with network disaster recovery
