Overview

  • This role is responsible for leading the development and execution of marketing and communications strategies for the Greater China region and the Chinese market.
  • This includes developing and managing the brand, creating and executing marketing campaigns, social media and media relations for the Greater China region and Chinese market.
  • The ideal candidate should have a strong / native understanding of the Greater China region (Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan and mainland China) and Chinese market and be able to develop creative and effective marketing campaigns that resonate with our business partners and prospects.
  • The successful candidate will be based in Hong Kong and report to the Head of Marketing & Communications, Asia and closely support the business agenda of the Executive Chairman, Asia Pacific.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive an integrated Marketing & Communications approach in Asia in line with EFG’s corporate positioning for the Greater China region and Chinese market.
  • Internal Communications : Draft and manage internal communication to guarantee steady, clear and consistent information and news flow top-down and peer-to-peer; help foster EFG’s corporate culture and values; ensure regional content is regularly featured on the intranet and contribute to existing intranet series and vessels; support employee engagement through dedicated initiatives and new formats.
  • Event Management : Manage and activate regional sponsorship programmes and client events for the Greater China region and Chinese market across a range of sporting and cultural themes; focus on luxury client hospitality and brand presence; ensure a smooth planning and budget control process.
  • Sponsorship Management : Manage and promote key sponsorships of the Greater China region both internally and externally; constantly review and adapt sponsorship portfolio to maximise impact (brand awareness; business generation)
  • Brand Marketing Collaterals : Manage the creation, production and delivery of ‘best in class’ on-brand marketing materials, including presentations, pitch books, corporate gifting and event collateral. Ensure high quality translations into Traditional and Simplified Chinese for the Chinese speaking market.
  • Media Relations and External Communications : Manage media relations and build relationships with key media outlets, capture opportunities to increase EFG’s media presence, seek and support networking or speaking opportunities for EFG’s senior management, spokespersons and investment experts in the Greater China region.
  • Digital and Content Marketing : Build up regional presence for owned media by creating interesting and engaging content for WeChat pushed out on a timely basis.
  • Administration and budget support : Support Head of Marketing & Communications Asia for regional activities, where applicable, including support and administrative tasks.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicational laws, cross-border and other banking and financial industry rules and regulations.
  • Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in marketing and communications in the luxury and / or hospitality industries, with a specific focus on the Greater China market.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Strong understanding of Chinese culture and UHNWI behaviour.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful event marketing strategies within the luxury and / or hospitality space.
  • Proven track record of being able to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Proven track record of successful executing marketing campaigns in key cities of Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan and China.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
