Assistant Social Work Officer

Descriptions Applications are invited for the above post in the rank of Assistant Social Work Officer in the 5-day Boarding Section of TWGHs Kwan Fong Kai Chi School.

Requirements

Registered under the Social Workers Registration Ordinance (Cap. 505);
a) a local degree in Social Science majoring in Social Work, or equivalent, or

b) a local degree, or equivalent, and has successfully completed a one-year post-graduate course in Social Work at an approved institution; or

c) a local degree, or equivalent, and has successfully completed an approved two-year post-graduate course in social study / social work; or

d) a local degree, or equivalent, and a Master's Degree in Social Work obtained at an approved institution;

attained English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language at Grade E or above in the H.K.C.E.E., or equivalent; and

the ability to speak fluent Cantonese.

Duties

To assist the warden in the daily operation of the boarding section of a special school;

to supervise the houseparents-in-charge;

to act as a centre-in-charge in the absence of the warden;

to take up shift duty as required; and

to take up any other appropriate duties as assigned.

Salary Scale

Currently $34,185 - $75,620 per month (Government Master Pay Scale Points 16-33)

The entry salary is subject to the assessment of the Education Bureau (EDB).

The salary is subject to downward / upward adjustment or may be frozen arising from the civil service pay adjustment / review on civil service starting salaries / pay policy review and / or as determined by the EDB.
