The Campus Development Office (CDO) is a professional office providing planning, funding liaison and project management for capital and AA&I projects to support the University's academic and research developments. CDO also conducts in-house feasibility studies, budget estimate, design and management services for spatial re-organisation and interior fitting out projects.

With a vision to achieve design excellence and campus sustainability development, the projects of CDO have received prestigious awards, e.g. HKIA Annual Awards, HKGBC Green Building Awards and top BEAM Plus Platinum and Gold ratings in environmental design and energy conservation.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) facilities / building / sustainability planning and development in support of general and academic development; (b) financial planning and cost estimation (including preparation of submissions for capital subvention, budgeting and funding application); (c) building services design and management of projects from design to testing and commissioning; (d) financial management of building and AA&I / fitting-out projects; (e) tender preparation / evaluation and contract administration; (f) appointment and supervision of consultants and contractors; (g) liaison with other service units and user departments in the University; (h) provision of professional advice on related aspects of University campus development; and (i) other duties as assigned.

Applicants for the post of Engineer should have (i) Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, the Institution of Electrical Engineers or the Institution of Mechanical Engineers; and (ii) at least eight years' post-qualification experience (preferably part of which in a management position) in design and supervision of construction development. Experience with planning of infrastructure services will be an advantage.

Applicants for the post of Assistant Engineer should (i) meet full academic requirements for Corporate Membership of one of the above-named Institutions or equivalent; and (ii) have at least five years' relevant experience and training leading to the entry requirements for Corporate Membership of one of the above-named Institutions or equivalent.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
