Landscape Supervisor

You will be engaged in the work of the District Facility Services Department (Landscape Team) of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. Cooperating with the mission of the West Kowloon Cultural District, you will be responsible for :

supervising the landscape maintenance of the district, including maintenance of trees, plants, lawns and related horticultural matters in Art Park and Park and Public Open Space;

supervising, coordinating and implementing the maintenance work of frontline gardener and soft landscape maintenance contractor, such as watering, replacing and trimming plants, weeding, fertilising, pest control, thinning and pruning trees, and placing potted plants for event setup;

assisting in the treatment and reinstatement of plants after the park activities and event, lawns rehabilitation work;

driving and operating all kinds of gardening machinery and lawn maintenance machineries;

providing emergency support services in response to adverse weather such as typhoon and thunderstorm warnings;

working on weekends or holidays in response to park activities or events;

ensuring safety standards apply to assigned works; and

performing the work assigned by the General Manager of District Facility Services Department or his delegates and complete the work efficiently.

You should :

possess a recognised degree / diploma in Landscape Management, Arboriculture and Urban Forestry, Horticulture or a related discipline;

possess 1 year of horticultural maintenance or gardening experience; preferably demonstrating experience of managing large-scale park gardening and maintenance;

have an understanding of the operation of gardening machinery or power tools, such as lawn mowers, fence shears, hand-pushing lawn shovels, chain saw etc.;

hold a light goods vehicle driver's license with the experience of football field / various lawns maintenance;

adapt to outdoor work and 5 days of work;

be diligent, responsible, organised, honest and passionate about flower planting and gardening, knowledge of local plants is a plus;

have teamwork and good communication skills; and

be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English preferable.
