This role is important enabling the Chief Distribution Officer, Hong Kong & Macau (CDO) to work most effectively with the stakeholders and fulfill the commitments to business. The incumbent will play a facilitative role that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role. He / she will support the CDO to oversee various functions across the team which includes Audit & Compliance, MIS & KPIs, Capacity Management & Resource Planning, Software Asset Management, Tools & Process, People Development, Training and Employee Engagement.
This role needs to maintain good relationship and communication with agency and other distribution partners. He / she has to collect the requests and needs from agents and managers, and then take them back for resolution. The process will involve multiple internal stakeholders.
This role has also to formulate the messaging of different initiatives to agency and distribution partners. He / she has to coordinate and come up with the consolidated messages of different initiatives reiterating the ultimate goals in order to maximize the impact to the audience.
Position Responsibilities :
Act as a strong support to the CDO to ensure smooth and efficient operations, as well as accomplishment of business KPIs and strategies.
Work closely with CDO and distribution management team to drive people development & training as well as employee engagement initiatives.
Proactively identify issues that could impact the successful execution of the CDO’s commitments. This responsibility involves elevating those issues about which the CDO should be aware and framing / positioning ideas to resolve the problem / mitigate the risk. This requires the incumbent to focus on the underlying interests of the parties working with the CDO, understand their intentions, and creatively identify alternative means of handling pressing issues.
Recommend mitigating approaches to CDO if re-alignment is required. The incumbent needs to understand well the breadth of the projects within the CDO’s purview. Tact, diplomacy, and persistence are essential qualities in executing this dimension of the role.
Involve CDO’s team to orchestrate projects as assigned as well as business commitments to ensure alignment among the stakeholders.
Assist CDO on implementation of people strategies, including participating in discussion of organization structure, role assessment, implementation follow-up with management team and HR team.
Prepare and review management / financial reports, and to highlight and discuss with CDO the areas that need management attention.
Develop draft communication on behalf of CDO which includes but not limited to communication from CDO to SMT and correspondence related to CDO’s meetings. The key communication needs to accurately reflect CDO’s position in the meetings to help drive understanding of his / her views.
Required Qualifications :
Degree in Insurance or Financial related disciplines
At least 10 years of relevant experience
