Job Posting Details

  • Associate Vice-President for Research and Development (Knowledge Transfer).
  • Director of ACCESS.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement commercialization strategies for semiconductor-related research outputs.
  • Identify high-potential technologies and guide IP protection, licensing, and third-party project development.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with industry, government agencies, venture capital firms, and academic institutions.
  • Lead the preparation and negotiation of government and industry-funded project proposals.
  • Oversee technology marketing efforts including channel development, promotional materials, and investor engagement.
  • Advise on IP frameworks and commercialization models for collaborative projects.
  • Support the formation and growth of start-ups, including business planning, deal structuring, and post-investment management.
  • Coordinate internal approvals and stakeholder consultations for agreements and contracts.

    • Candidate Requirements :

  • Advanced degree in semiconductor technology or related field (PhD or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in technology commercialization, business development, or start-up leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in : Securing government or industry grants and funding.Structuring and closing technology licensing or investment deals.Leading start-up formation and early-stage growth.
  • Strong knowledge of : Intellectual property management and commercialization frameworks.Market research, competitive analysis, and risk management.The innovation ecosystem in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across academia, industry, and government.
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities.

    Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.Housing benefits will also be provided where applicable. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
