THE JOB
Reporting to the Manager in the Sports Medicine Centre, the Sports Recovery Officer will be responsible for the following duties :
- To provide recovery services for scholarship athletes and to provide overseas on-field support;
- To conduct the injury prevention and rehabilitation program;
- To liaise with coaches and other technical support professionals on elite athletes’ recovery process;
- To conduct research projects and educational programs for elite athletes and coaches, and
- To perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by senior staff.
THE REQUIREMENTS
A professional diploma or a university degree in sports therapy, sports medicine or a relevant discipline; or 8 years musculoskeletal recovery services experience for applicants without equivalent academic qualifications;A minimum of 2 years’ sports relevant working experience for the professional diploma holder, elite athletes services experience is a definite advantage;Able to work in irregular hours and work overseas;Excellent command of both spoken and written English. Ability to speak Cantonese and Putonghua is a definite advantage; andAwareness / knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.
