- Independent and self-driven person to lead the Hong Kong Commercial Claims to serve our customers, work with our broker partners and to collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage our corporate customers' claims in the most effective, efficient manner whilst delivering a customer centric claims service which supports the Purpose, Values and Strategy of Zurich, and be able to work cohesively with Underwriting to drive our Growth proposition
- Develop and implement, in coordination with General Insurance Commercial Underwriting team, an effective claims proposition for Commercial Claims operations across all Lines of Business from Property, Engineering, Liability, Employees?Compensation & Marine, etc.
- Develop and implement effective staffing models to drive excellence in operational efficacy, efficiency and service
- Be the leader of the Hong Kong Claims team to contribute to the international claims network and to drive collaboration with other Zurich offices around the world
- Assure program governance including sign-off on program deliverables, implementation plans, program close down and post-implementation review
- Able to work closely with Commercial Underwriting and Customer & Distribution Management (CDM) for all new program pitching, pre-renewal negotiations and driving initiatives to support the business growth
- Orchestrate the execution of high-profile global claims initiatives and provide technical insights to regional and global stakeholders
- Develop and implement effective methods to measure claims efficiency and operational effectiveness
- Ensure the overall prioritization of multiple projects / initiatives and resources
- Apply advanced technology to drive simplification and automation for the simple straight forward claims and invest & develop teams to deliver best in class claims concierge service for the large sensitive complex claims
- Attract and retain talented claims professionals by embedding learning and development into the business culture aligned to the Commercial Claims requirement
- Provide insight to our broker partners and customers by collaboration with internal Data Science team to derive any trend / claims pattern that could help improving the risk of the customer operations
- Contribute to the development of business strategy in claims and provide express claims guidance and support to the wider Claims leadership team
- Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders across segments and identify opportunities for service improvement
- Design and develop a robust strategy on providing customers with claims concierge service and differentiate the right customer segment, where self-service solution can be applied
What we're looking for
Degree or equivalent work experience15 years of experience in claims servicePossession of insurance qualifications with working experience in general insurance industry or leadership experience in Commercial Customer claims will be an advantageProven internal and external stakeholder management capabilities, with track record of pitching, managing and transforming corporate programs for different Lines of BusinessMastery in Commercial Claims for corporate customers and international brokersKnowledge and strong foundation on Line of Business including Property, Engineering, Employees' Compensation, Liability and MarineKnowledge of international claims framework and system would be an advantageKnowledge of industry standards and protocolAble to understand the claims market agreements that exist within the various territories and how to access the specific knowledgeCapability in lining up and coordinating with regional and global team for large & technical claimsHigh level awareness of interdependencies with other Zurich Functions (Finance, Reinsurance, Marketing, Actuarial, Underwriting and Legal)High level awareness of market / industry issuesAble to develop Commercial Claims Proposition independently and to assist UW and Distribution for business growthBe able to articulate how to prioritize and work to deadlinesSet, agree and control budgets for Commercial Claims area and propose claims initiatives for improvement on both claims efficiency, risk insights and customer experience aligning with the organization goalsLead the Commercial Claims to drive a cohesive proposition in complex cross functional environments, which change the way claims operates aligned to the organization strategyLead the development of policy / governance / regulatory standards within Commercial Claims in order to define the organization policy position and ensure compliance with regulatorsDevelop Customer Claims Protocol for all corporate customers by taking into account their specific business needs and any international structure where applicable.Lead the development of processes and standards aligned to global policy and brand values, yet suitable for local markets to deliver espoused levels of customer serviceContribute to the development of business strategy in claims and provide Commercial Claims guidance and support to the wider leadership team.Partner with senior stakeholders in order to influence and engage them in driving commercial success for the organization
