The Opportunity
Responsibilities :
- Have daily site walk at the construction site and provide site observations
- Attend routine inspection of site works independently and manage & monitor the site activities conforming to the Client’s requirements and conformity with relevant contract specification, relevant statutory requirements and Code of Practices as specified by related Government Departments
- Take up statutory role as TCP-T3 in accordance with the CoP Site Safety Supervision Plan according to the project requirements
- Support Civil / Structural / Geotechnical Engineers in monitoring and checking site works for piling works, excavation works, construction of substructure & superstructure, drainage, sewage, temporary works, etc.
- Support the checking of the pre-handover and handover inspections with relevant parties, interfacing with Electrical and Mechanical and Building Services works
- Participate in site progress, site audit and site safety management meetings
- Monitor site progress, and maintain site diary and records
- Submit reports, liaise and co-ordinate with relevant Government Departments and utility undertakings for works on site
- Prepare, review and submit all relevant forms and application following project requirement to satisfy the relevant Government Departments
- Regular reporting to Head Office and support preparation to the Project Engineers / Project Managers in reporting of site progress
- For Resident Inspector of Works, also attend regular meetings with relevant Government Departments for purposes related to the progress, safety, quality assurance, quality control, coordination, interfacing coordination with other neighboring site representatives, etc.

Qualifications and Experience required :
Resident Inspector of Works :
Higher Diploma or Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering from a Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Polytechnic or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / Technical College / Technical Institute, or equivalentAt least 10 years site experience in site supervision including 6 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the capacity of inspector of worksHousing project experience will be preferred but not essentialResident Assistant Inspector of Works :
Higher Diploma or Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering from a Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Polytechnic or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / Technical College / Technical Institute, or equivalent5 years’ relevant experience, including 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience. The qualification and experience shall comply with the requirement of TCP grade T3 as shown on Table 2 of Technical Memorandum for Supervision PlansAssistant Resident Engineer :
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering recognized by HKIE's Accredited Program, minimum 2 years of relevant working experience on site is acceptableWith completion of TCP-T3 Top-up Course for GIFW and Building Works with Significant Geotechnical Content is preferable but not essentialOther qualifications and experience required for the positions :
Candidate with previous on-site project experience of Housing Authorities is preferable but not essentialEquip with valid green card issued by a recognized organizationGood understanding of the construction works and with experience in assisting Engineers / Project Managers on all aspects of supervision of works on siteAble to work under demanding environment and tight programGood command of both written and spoken English and ChineseMeet the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalentMay have irregular working hours and the actual arrangement will be determined by their supervisorsThis position will be on a contract basis to work at Kwu Tung North Housing Project site in Hong Kong for 12 months, which may be lengthened or shortened subject to project development. Standard working hours will be 6 days per week. Attractive remuneration package with gratuity will be offered to the successful candidates.
