Role Summary

Bowtie’s mission is to make insurance good again and our vision is to build a category-defining health insurance company.

As a young and fast-growing company, grooming and learning from the next generation is always our priority. We are looking for interns to join us throughout the year - as a Bowtie intern, you will be treated and work like the rest of the team (no fetching coffee duties), and gain experience in substantive marketing or growth projects.

About the Role

You will be working closely with us to gain some hands-on experience and deliver some projects / campaigns to pave way for your career in actuarial science.

Our internship program is designed to offer penultimate and final year actuarial science students opportunities to immerse themselves in a fast-paced startup environment and to gain hands-on experiences in diverse functions of an insurance company, and different aspects of an actuary’s work. If you are looking for an internship opportunity to work in a cross-disciplinary team while preparing for a career as an actuary, our internship program is for you!

You will be working side-by-side with people from different teams and backgrounds, whether it’s with our engineers developing front / back-end tools, our marketing team on new ideas, or even our designers in coming up with the best user experience for new products. At the core of this, you’d be working with experienced actuaries every day, and some of your tasks will include :

Pricing Stream :

• Insurance product (individual / group, health / life / wellness) pricing
• Analysis of experience assumptions and variances against pricing expectation

Product Stream :

Financial reporting stream :

Based on your interest, you may also be involved in ad hoc projects!

We are committed to offering our interns the platform to get into substantive work (no one is fetching coffee or stapling reports together), by the end of your internship, we expect you to be as knowledgeable as junior analysts in a typical actuarial team, and have seen the bigger picture and be involved in the decision-making process which most of them would not have experienced!

Internship Duration :

Full-time : 6 months

Part-time : 3+ days per week, 6 months
