Job Title: Director of Sourcing (Hardgoods) Company: European Retail Group

Company: a leading European retail group, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join the Asia Management team as the Director of Sourcing (Hardgoods). This is a key leadership role within the organization, responsible for overseeing the merchandising, development, and sourcing processes for all hardgoods categories. As a director, you will play a crucial role in managing and developing vendor relationships outside of Europe, ensuring the on-time delivery of high-quality assortments at the best prices.
Responsibilities: - Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing and buying initiatives for hardgoods categories.
- Lead and mentor a regional team of 20 professionals across multiple offices, covering five distinct categories.
- Collaborate closely with Buyers at the head office to align sourcing strategies with overall business objectives.
- Vendor Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors outside of Europe, with a focus on Asia.
- Negotiate terms, contracts, and pricing to secure the best deals while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Identify and onboard new vendors to diversify and optimize the supply chain.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work collaboratively with Quality, Sustainability, and Supply Chain teams to ensure product compliance, ethical sourcing, and timely delivery.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to understand market trends, consumer demands, and competitive landscapes.
- Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee end-to-end supply chain processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency.
- Implement best practices to streamline sourcing, production, and distribution, minimizing lead times and costs.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics to measure the success of sourcing strategies.
- Regularly review and analyse data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications: - Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in strategic sourcing and buying, with a focus on hardgoods gained from a retailer
- Proven track record of managing and developing vendor relationships in Asia.
- In-depth knowledge of international sourcing trends, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements for the European market
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team and drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
