Research Officer / Assistant Research Officer, Science Unit

The Science Unit () would like to invite applications for the above-mentioned post.

The appointee will join the freshwater ecology research team led by Prof. Anthony Lau () and will be working on environmental DNA (eDNA)-related projects.

Responsibilities

• Support research on local freshwater animals
• Collect field samples for eDNA work
• General lab maintenance, including ordering consumables, cleaning glassware, and organizing samples
• Experimental duties include molecular biology techniques such as DNA extraction, qPCR, and high-throughput sequencing

Requirements

Salary and Benefits

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits and mandatory provident fund. Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for 12 months with the possibility of a further extension on related research projects.
