Technical Officer (Laboratory Services)

The University seeks talented professionals to join the Laboratory Services (LS) Unit within the Campus Management Office. This position will support the Head of Laboratory (Development) in designing and planning both existing and new laboratory facilities. The aim is to establish modern, suitable, and sustainable labs that empower world-class researchers in their academic endeavors.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaboration with Academics : Partner with faculty to create laboratory designs that meet regulatory standards while fulfilling their specific requirements.
• Stakeholder Liaison : Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure user needs are clearly understood and incorporated into the design.
• Site Monitoring : Oversee site activities, focusing on material management, adherence to timelines, and compliance with safety protocols.
• Post-Installation Management : Manage post-installation processes, including testing, commissioning, and transitioning projects to the maintenance team.
• Occupancy Facilitation : Assist lab users with settling in after handover by coordinating necessary fitting-out works.
• Additional Duties : Perform other tasks as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or a related field, along with the following experience requirements :

Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese is also required.

Preferred Experience

The ideal candidate should have experience in the design and installation of electrical power distribution systems and room fit-out renovations, particularly in one or more of the following sectors :

Candidates with a Grade A or above electrical worker registration certificate are preferred.

Duration : 2 years,renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
