Our client, a leading professional services firm, is seeking a dynamic Employment Counsel to support their Asia Pacific operations, with a strong focus on Greater China. This role can be based in either Hong Kong or Shanghai and will offer the opportunity to advise on a wide range of employment law matters and contribute to strategic business initiatives in a fast-paced, global environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Advise on employment law issues including compliance, contracts, compensation, diversity & inclusion, and workforce classification.
- Lead or support internal investigations, complex employee separations, litigation, and regulatory audits.
- Partner with stakeholders on strategic projects such as office openings, acquisitions, and workforce transitions.
- Navigate complex personnel and compliance challenges with agility and a proactive mindset.
Qualifications :
Legally qualified to practice in a relevant jurisdiction, with 6+ years of employment law experience from a top law firm or in-house role.Strong expertise in employment law across Greater China; experience with Japanese and Korean employment laws is a plus.Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (Putonghua); excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical, actionable guidance.Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, global environment.
