Project Manager (Contractor) – Operational Risk and Control Self-Assessment transformation, Banking
An international Bank with large local presence is looking for a seasoned Operational Risk Management professional to run a transformation project for their Operations teams.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting the project delivery plan and deliver a project to transform the Bank’s operational risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) approach and documentation to align to the Bank’s process, controls and risk profiles. The role will also be actively engaged with relevant stakeholders to identify simplification and automation opportunities for rationalizing the RCSA process.
In this project, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to :
- Work closely with the Head to define the transformation objectives and engage other Operations team heads to understand the end to end process and controls and the risk assessment approach
- Engage process and controls owners across different departments and operations centreto map the end to end process against the existing record of RCSA, and execute streamlining opportunities across all RCSA documentation
- Present an reflect the actual Risk profiles and control nature as a result of the uplifting the documentation and enable sustainable approach to managing the RCSA documentation
- Propose and define user requirements for streamlining and automating the RCSA execution whilst fulfilling the regulatory and Bank’s policy and framework
- Work with the 2ndLine Risk Teams to identify further Bank-wide streamlining opportunities and define user requirements for uplifting tooling functionality
- Promote continuous improvement in managing Operational Risk within first line of defenceand enhance the organisation’srisk culture
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree of Business, Information technology or any related disciplinesWith 6 to 10 years of related work experience in financial services, either as an in-house first or second line Operational Risk role, or as a consultant advising on Operational Risk related matters, or a mixture of bothSeasoned project management experience is essentialExperience in conducting or advising on Risk and Control Self Assessmentand preparing required RCSA documentation under regulatory framework is highly preferredHands on experience in using or developing any Operational Risk and Issue Management tooling / systems is a plusSound knowledge in risk management and governance framework especially in Banking or financial servicesExperience in process mapping and assessing risk and controlsIndependent problem solving and self-startingAbility to manage ambiguous problems with solid plans and tangible solutionGood command of Cantonese and written EnglishExcellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skillsCertification in operational risk management is advantageous.Save this job
