The Science Unit ( would like to invite applications for the above-mentioned posts.

The appointees will join the research team led by Prof. Paulina Wong ( and will be working on a collaborative industry project involved GeoAI research and software development, focused on smart transportation disciplines.

Responsibilities

Undertake smart traffic and transportation project development and research
Responsible for cleansing and analyzing the traffic-related datasets, and create predictive models to forecast trends and identify patterns by using various statistical and analytical GeoAI tools
Assist on prototype design, GeoAI application implementation and overall system integration, database design, programming, testing, refinement and documentation
Develop educational materials and deliver trainings / workshops to students
Provide administrative support and other research-related duties to the supervisor

Requirements

A bachelor / master degree or above in Information Technology, Computer / Data Science and AI, or other related disciplines

2 to 5 years of solid experience in relevant field with sophisticated skills and knowledge in Python, tensor flow and PyTorch, familiar with AI, ML and DL Models

1 to 2 years of solid experience in database management and the use of database query language such as SQL

Sensitive to data and equipped with data processing capabilities. Have a solid foundation in data analysis and statistical knowledge is preferred

Familiar with GIS and CSDI is preferred but not required

Good command in written and spoken English and Chinese

Preference will be given to those who have demonstrated experience in research project management and academic publication

Salary and Benefits

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, and mandatory provident fund.

Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for a period of up to 20-24 months.
