What this job involves

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Manager to oversee our Building Services operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of building systems, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security systems.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment life and minimize downtime.

Manage a team of technicians and engineers, providing leadership, training, and professional development opportunities.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure building services meet the needs of occupants and align with organizational goals.

Develop and manage budgets for building services operations and capital projects.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.

Implement and monitor energy efficiency initiatives to reduce costs and environmental impact.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies and systems to improve building performance and sustainability.

Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.

Respond to and resolve complex technical issues and emergency situations as they arise.

Interested? An ideal candidate would need to have the following qualifications

Desired experience and technical skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field

Minimum of 7 years of experience in building services or facilities management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role

Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing

Familiarity with building automation systems and energy management technologies

Understanding of relevant building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards

Excellent project management and problem-solving skills

Strong leadership and team management abilities

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and facility management software

Preferred Qualifications :

Professional certification (e.g., Certified Facility Manager, Professional Engineer)

Experience with sustainability initiatives and green building practices

Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and CAD software
