As the Senior / Event Sales Manager at Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong , you will be responsible for working closely with the Assistant Director of Events, Culinary team and Event Service Team in building a clear and credible vision for the department. You'll assist Assistant Director of Events to achieve strategic goals and maximize revenues while being the liaison between the event space, restaurant and hotel rooms.

You will be tasked with quarterly sales goals that are aligned with our catering targets. you'll consistently provide a high level of exposure of the hotel in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone contact, written communications, and involvement in the community. You'll be the face of Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be :

  • Working with Event Service Team to create and maintain banquet menus and other Marketing Collateral.
  • Interacting effectively with internal stakeholders and vendors in order to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Ensuring the implementation of a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales while consistently delivering high level of service
  • Knowledgeable of restaurant / hotel competitive set and recommends sales / pricing strategies, service and product improvements / up sell strategies to stay competitive.
  • Conducting pre-event and post-event meetings to continually improve the client experience
  • Developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives and creative events to meet annual sales goals.
  • Monitoring citywide events and connecting with the organizer which brings business opportunities to the hotel.
  • Soliciting, negotiating and booking new and repeat business through various efforts in order to maximize room revenue to meet and / or exceed individual and team sales and revenue goals.
  • Developing new potential business and continually enhancing relationships with key accounts to maintain high visibility and increase market share.
  • Ensuring that accurate and detailed notes / traces of accounts are maintained via system and database.
  • Working closely with event planners to build strong working relationships and ensuring successful and memorable client experiences as their key point of contact.
  • Providing mentorship and training to the team.

What we need from you

  • A minimum of 5 years total experience in a hotel meetings and events setting, with at least 2 years of direct supervisory experience over a sales team
  • A bachelor’s degree in in hospitality management, event management or equivalent
  • Good business acumen and well versed of market trends
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, flexible, creative and problem-solving skills
  • Good leadership, training and coaching skills
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) is a must, speaking and writing; speak any other languages is an advantage
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Event Sales Manager.
