Job Summary

As a  Hardware Asset Management Engineer , you will play a crucial role in managing the organization’s hardware assets throughout their lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include conducting room audits, overseeing inventory management, and ensuring proper asset decommissioning in preparation for disposal. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate records, optimize asset utilization, and enhance security protocols.

Responsibilities

1. Room Audits :

Schedule and perform regular room audits to verify asset locations and conditions.

Update asset records based on audit findings.

Coordinate with corporate services, IT teams, and other room owners to ensure compliance.

2. Asset Storage Management :

Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware assets (e.g., desktops, laptops, phones).

Track asset movement, additions, and removals.

Input asset data into the asset management system.

Identify data gaps from legacy, manually entered data to physical assets and create a clean data set for future import and use within ITAM approved sources.

3. Asset Decommissioning :

Safely decommission hardware assets that are no longer in use.

Remove hard disks from retired equipment following data security protocols.

Prepare assets for disposal or transfer to other locations.

4. Serial Number Scanning :

Scan serial numbers of assets in stock rooms as part of audits and movement

Validate serial numbers during room audits and updates.

5. Secure Shipping :

Coordinate secure shipping of assets to other rooms, offices or disposal centres.

Ensure proper packaging and documentation.

Qualifications

Technology Bachelor’s degree

Experience in hardware asset management, inventory control, or related roles.

Familiarity with asset management software and tools.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Knowledge of data security practices during asset decommissioning.

Experience in a similar role

• 8-10 years of relevant experience
