About Your Role :

Based in Hong Kong, this role supports business initiatives and projects within the Greater China and Southeast Asia region, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Thailand and other countries. There may be opportunities to engage in wider initiatives across the Invesco group. Reporting to the Head of Legal, APAC, this is a newly created role offering a unique opportunity to work on legal matters primarily of a non- funds nature, as well as strategic projects while also providing general legal support to the investment management business. Key responsibilities are expected to include (but will not necessarily be limited to) :

Generate Corporate

• Support the Head of Legal, APAC, on strategic projects, corporate governance matters, and regulatory developments impacting the business.
• Review and advise on general commercial contracts, marketing agreements, vendor engagements, inter-company agreements, and NDAs.
• Coordinate with the Government Affairs team on legal and regulatory matters and assist with the legal work arising out of the geopolitical climate.
• Work with the Global Government Affairs team to monitor APAC policy and regulatory developments and contribute to Invesco regulatory updates and policy publications.
• Support M&A and corporate development activities (including those with regional implications, as applicable).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Legal colleagues in other jurisdictions and regions, Compliance, Risk, HR, and Business Units) as applicable to ensure legal and regulatory compliance across APAC jurisdictions.
• Together with senior Compliance personnel, lead the Regulatory Working Group to identify new trends and evaluate and monitor the impact of regulatory change in our key jurisdictions, and assist with the firm’s response to these changes.
• Lead efforts to standardize corporate secretarial procedures across the various business units and review board resolutions on a needed basis.
• Monitor and advise on evolving legal and regulatory requirements and corporate matters, particularly those with a non-specific funds focus such as in ESG, data protection and privacy, digital assets and employment law.
• Advise on and provide support to other Legal Team members in respect of specific matters, projects and enquiries from a general corporate and / or regulatory perspective.
